2010
Screw 2009. It's all about the '10.
Well lets see on New Years I went out with a very good friend of mine and we hung out a lounge. Laughed, drank, ate, the whole shebang. It was alot of fun and we've been talking about doing that again real soon.
So here's something a bit different, suggest a book to me. Comic or otherwise.(preferably comic) I will be doing the same for you. And for godsakes make sure it's a book I'll most likely be interested in or I swear to god I will murder you in your dreams. That wasn't too dark right?
Now here are some of my own suggestions:
1.Bakuman- rarely do I mention mangas but I have read a crapload of em. I just recently found this one online but it will come out to the states in print soon enough from what I heard. Or it's out now. Basically it's about a couple of guys who dream of becoming manga artists. That may not sound too interesting to alot of people, but for artists, trust me this rings too close to home quite a few times. It's very interesting and hey this book by the same guy who made Death Note.

2.Death Note- Again one more manga mention and this one is better known. I don't wanna ruin anything about it to anyone who doesn't know anything about it. It's a fun read about a guy who basically becomes a modern day supervillian and soon evolves into a cat and mouse game. Seriously the art alone made me fall in love with it. The anime version is decent too including the live action movies that follows.

3. KickAss- Mark Millar. John Romita Jr. Nuff said. It's brilliant. For those who don't know, it's just about a normal guy who dresses up to become a superhero. Don't wanna spoil anymore because I want you to check it out for yourself. Gonna see the live action movie.

4.Preacher- Excellent book that I am so sad I missed out on but I was kinda young when it came out and didn't appeal to me at the time. Now I've read the whole thang. Garth Ennis is bad ass. Then again alot of his work is. I've read quite a bit of it too. Hard to find but man it's worth it.

5. X-Force(current)- The black ops group of the famous X-Men. If you don't know who the X-Men are. I can't help you. Look it up. Seriously I am in love with both art and stories. Especially the art.

6.Punisher(Max series)- Another longtime Garth Ennis written book. Even stories not written by him are still good though. Frank Castle is not to be fucked with. Evah. Go read it.

7. The Sword- By the fantastic Luna Brothers. Great Book. These guys can really capture strong heroines in pretty much any of their other series but this one is no question , in my opinion, their best work yet. Read all of it.

8.The Walking Dead- Robert Kirkman's epic tale about survivors in a world populated by zombies. It is real dark. Prepare to love alot of characters and seeing them torn down to shreds. Crap this book made me care. And the fact that this is one of the few american comics done in black and white on purpose makes he mood feel even more overwhelming. Again, read it.

9.I know why the caged bird sings- A hah! An actual text layered book . Maya Angelou's swan song basically. Gives you a very vivid, disturbing, funny, tragic, uplifting, and maybe even thoughtful look into her young years. All of it are events that have happened to her. A surprise guilty pleasure for me.

10. One Piece- Very famous manga. What can I say? I fell in love with this manga like I did with Dragonball. The anime is excellent as well. (Never ever watch the american adaptation. I mean it. Look away). I love stories about fantasy, adventure, some romance, drama, and comedy. It's an epic tale and adventure story with almost no ending in sight, but man it wins me over everytime I can't help but like it.

(last one I promise)
11. Gantz- More manga's then I would care to mention. This manga as well as the anime version is my guilty pleasure. Dude. The action, the art, the characters, the over the top violence, and nudity. It's brainless mindless fun to read and to watch. And man just when you think the protagonists are about to get a breather, it captures you with some damn jaw dropping scenes that literally made me shout out loud "Hell Yea!"
I rarely do that when reading something, so that alone should tell you just how entertained I am.

Ok gotta go drop your own comments and suggestions. I've most likely heard of or read it, but I like to hear them anyway. Happy New Year y'all.

Happy Holidays!Champions Online free demo!

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 25, 2009, 9:27 PM

First off I hope everyone's Christmas (or whatever the hell it is you celebrate) went well.
If I haven't mentioned it already I'll get one thing out of the way and that's that I am officially done with working on Haven#1 and the book itself is pretty much wrapped up and should be sent or already has been sent to Image Comics. I don't know for sure on that. I'll have to get back to you later on it. Spoiler alert ; I think its got legs. Hope they like it, and if not well no big loss.

Also what would you say if I told you that there's a free demo of Champions Online? Don't believe me? [link]
You're welcome. You can play the game for free as long as you like up until level 15, and you start out with two character slots. And yes this will come out on XBox 360 very very soon. Those folks at Cryptic are awesome. Myself I got the game now and found a way to pay for not too much, so it ain't all bad, plus after 13 months worth of payment, you can play as long as you like free of charge.
Ok enough advertisements for MMORPGS. Point is I'm happy and I hope yo all enjoy the last week of '09 as we reach 2010.

stealing ideas feel so good. wanna fight about it?

Journal Entry: Tue Nov 24, 2009, 10:48 PM

Here's something that's fun to do and you can do this with practically just about anybody on DA. Hell they're probably doing it right now as we speak. So since I count this as collaboration, no charge to anybody whatsoever.
Ok so here are the rules; you may challenge any character I made up in my gallery with your own created character in your gallery. Doesn't mater at all what it is. This is just for pure random fun. Once you've chosen the combatants, myself and you as well(the challenger) will draw out the fight in as many illustrations as we wish. Up to you on that one.
Did you get all that? You choose the characters, and then we both draw out the fight either in just one illustration or several and you can even color it if you want.
So basically think of it as an artist fight club. and yes I'm aware that I'm totally stealing this idea, but so what? It's fun. So have fun lol.
Ok off to enjoy some Thanksgiving.
Gobble gobble bitches!

Black Dynamite is...DYNO-MITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 14, 2009, 9:23 PM

Just saw the film Black Dynamite. Had to see it the not so legal way though. Hey what can I do? They didn't give it a nationwide release so it's not playing anywhere near me and its the type of movie I would be happy to see. Man America is missing out on one of the funniest blaxplotation parodies ever made.
I don't wanna spoil anything on it but I will say that it's a damn shame it didn't get a wider release, I guarantee it would be a hit. Course people said the same thing about Paranormal Activity and yet they were able to get the nationwide release. Which to this day I still dislike, but oh well that's my opinion and nothing more.
Anywhos main point is, however you see it, just check it out, definitely worth a view.

43 k to Just hangin' in there

Wow how about that Halloween huh? Hope everyone had a decent one. Me? Well not much other then the fact that someone did hurl a brick at our kitchen window a few days prior before Halloween so needless to say that kinda ruined the spirit of one of my favorite holiday pastimes. So no I didn't dress up this year..pssh I was planning to dress up as Louis from the game Left 4 dead.
Oh and don't worry about the window. It's in tact. The metal screen luckily protected it. Gave us all quite a scare though. And yea we reported it to the cops already. Isn't it nice to know there are plenty of assholes out there. I got a suspect in mind but I can't prove it so I'll remain mum for now.
Drama aside I' still working on that Haven comic I've been mentioning alot of lately. Basically my part of the process is about finished. And no I won't be posting any more of those comic pages. Then the entire comic would be for free and we just can't have that.Sorry dems the breaks. Right now its going through mostly last minute editorial and lettering process. But the cover layout they have plan looks pretty tight to me. So in other words just wish us luck.
Also be so kind to spread the word at all or even have a peek at an item I have up on sell at ebay: [link]
One of my older comic art pages of, yes of course who else but my ongoing mascot ,SoulStar. Raw pencil and ink on 11x16 pro comic art board and personally signed by yours truly.
It's on sale for about 7 days, so hopefully someone will want it. If not no big loss.
Ok that's all I have to share for now. Go live your life now.
Edit----
Very breif update I've relisted the item I was selling which once again can be found here: [link]
It will be on sell for about six days before I just give up trying to sell it so spread the word or what have you. Ok bye now.
